last minute ebay deals
In the past, I've covered the deals that can be had by searching for misspellings on Ebay. I recently ran across a new site at PPP that has taken the Ebay API in a different direction, and I can definitely see getting some use out of it.
The site is called Lastminute Auction and it provides quick search functionality for auctions that are ending at one dollar or less with only 1 minute left. Sure, you could try and browse Ebay regularly to watch this type of stuff, but it's always nice when someone with a bit of programming background and some Ebay API access rolls up the functionality into an easier to use interface.
So, let's say you were looking for a new business postal scale - you can search through the business supplies category and see what's going for cheap with less than a minute left. Or perhaps you've just got some money burning a hole in your pocket and you're looking for a good deal, maybe on something that you could resell for a little profit - check the everything else category.
Of course, with only a minute left, there are a few drawbacks to using a service like this. For one, with less than a minute left, you don't have much time to check feedback. You might also find yourself rushed into purchasing something that you might have otherwise passed on if you had more time to research it. Like any "deal" on Ebay, you also need to check shipping and handling costs. In many cases, Ebay sellers make up for cheap sale prices by padding the "handling" costs associated with shipping an item.
I'd recommend doing your research ahead of time, knowing the price that you're looking for (including shipping), and then using a tool like this regularly until you find it. Best of luck!
