keeping kids safe

I recently discussed the benefits of pc monitoring applications, and parental access control software. I then received a question from a reader wanting to know which type of technology is best for keeping tracks of your kids' internet use and protecting them from harm. As I stated before, if you are truly serious about protecting your children from the dangers of the internet, your best bet is to apply a combination of multiple protection schemes. It's more expensive and you may feel like you are "doubling up" but there are very good reasons for this. For one, no single scheme is foolproof. Another reason is that children are often credited with being more tech-savvy than their parents, and those that have more knowledge than their parents will inevitably learn how to disable or evade an application or two.

Your children are worth the extra $$.
